The Archdiocese of Seattle requires all volunteers in ministry dealing with minors or vulnerable adults to take this class if you have not already done so since 2008 and are involved in the following ministries:  CATECHISTS & AIDES (Includes Room Parents),  YOUTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS, VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS, DRIVERS, ADULT ALTAR SERVERS, OUTREACH EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS, CHILDREN'S CHOIR LEADERS.

If you have already taken a foundation class and are still working in one of the above named ministries, you must complete the Online Update every three years when your background check comes due, between August 1st and April 15th, for as long as you are involved in these ministries.  Classes, be it the foundation class or the Online Update, should be accomplished prior to becoming active in ministry, as we must remain accountable to the Archdiocese as well as to our parish.

All volunteers who handle money (ushers, money counters), need to do a background check every 3 years to stay active.

Click here for background check renewal and continuing online classes.

computerIf you do not have a computer or online capability, please contact the parish office to arrange for alternate means of fulfilling this requirement.  The intent is not to make this a difficult process, but to aide you in your ministry as well as to protect all involved.  We are here to help in any way we can, as we appreciate your willingness to become involved in ministry.  If you are unsure whether or not your ministry requires you to complete the Online Update or Background Check, please contact the parish office or one of our Safe Environment Coordinators This email address is being protected from spambots.
